Josh and Eliza met on October 21, 2009 on a blind date in Portland Maine. We probably had met before then, since we both went to Waynflete School (three years apart) for high school but we don’t remember each other. Anyway, Josh asked Eliza for drinks, after his best friend Matt told him to. Thanks Matt!
Eliza did not think they were on a date, but she had a great time, and did hug him at the end. At last a wonderful guy who had traveled the world, liked technology, was driven, and loved Maine.
Josh dug Eliza’s photos and felt an immediate connection to Eliza when they met for drinks (which turned into dinner). She even managed to fish out of him his Army history, and she did not run away!
A few dates later and they were both inseparable spending the winter, spring and summer on adventures both in their backyard, and in Europe.
In October 2010, they both made time in their busy schedules to plan a romantic trip to Quebec, to enjoy the city, and then go kayaking in the St. Lawrence with whales. Turns out, that trip led to to a perfect engagement! On 10/10/10 Josh asked Eliza to be his wife…and she said YES!
